“Trinity. Vyshyvanka. Memory”: A Cultural Evening Held at Hrushevskyi Restaurant

On May 24, the Грушевський restaurant hosted a special event titled “Trinity. Vyshyvanka. Memory,” bringing together gastronomy, cultural heritage, and the living memory of generations.

The evening was dedicated to things that exist beyond time: traditions, symbols, and stories passed down from one generation to another, shaping Ukrainian identity. Guests were invited not only to enjoy an exquisite dinner prepared by the restaurant’s chef, but also to immerse themselves in the deeper cultural meaning of Ukrainian embroidery.

The central element of the event was an exhibition of nine vintage embroidered shirts from the archive of the K.R. brand and Khrystyna Rachytska. The collection has been formed over more than two decades and began with a single shirt inherited from the founder’s grandmother. Over time, it evolved into a mission focused on preserving Ukrainian cultural memory.

Each shirt presented during the evening was more than a work of art — it was a personal story preserving the voices, emotions, and experiences of women from different generations. The exhibition was accompanied by a lecture by Leonid Martynchyk dedicated to Ukrainian embroidery traditions and the cultural meaning of Green Holidays celebrations.

The atmosphere of the evening combined intimacy, meaningful dialogue, and a shared sense of cultural memory. Events like this are shaping a new format of hospitality — one where a restaurant becomes not only a place for dining, but also a cultural space for conversations about traditions, identity, and values.

For Hrushevskyi Restaurant, “Trinity. Vyshyvanka. Memory” became another step toward creating experiences filled with deeper meaning, combining contemporary gastronomy with respect for Ukrainian heritage.

“There are traditions and symbols that never disappear, even when the world around us changes too quickly. They help us preserve our connection to ourselves, our history, and our culture,” the Hrushevskyi team shared after the event.
